In their never ending quest for excellence, our associates in Select Digital have recently installed a Develop +7000 small format print press supplied by www.digitalprint.ie. Being a product designer by trade and more importantly by nature, I always enjoy scrutinising, fault finding, performance testing and general hoking and poking of equipment and machinery. I have concluded this is a serious piece of hardware. The quality is amazing and the output speed is equally as impressive. With the

Recent flooding in Thailand has severely impacted several large global hard disk suppliers. In the first half of this year Thailand accounted for over 40% of worldwide hard drive production. Currently that figure has halved and due to the large amount of damage sustained to production facilities it could be the second half of 2012 before normal capacity is resumed. Designers- Things they can do & why you should hire them

At this moment I would just like to state that the following recommendations are at times based on an experienced, imaginative and technically astute designer, similar to yours truly (smile). The holy grail of the design profession is to strike the correct balance of enthusiastic creativity with effecient & effective functionality. So you mix a wildly creative and energetic approach with a large portion of meticulous and calculated input. You can be expressive and dramatic when appropriate and then more restrained and efficient when called for. It definately sounds far easier than it is to do.

Firstly and rather obviously an
